I downloaded MC off the official website. When I try to run the Launcher Installer it opens and it says Making things awesome and the progress bar isn't moving. I've tried closing it and opening it. I also tried closing it and then reopening it. If it doesn't work, I'll be trying Java edition. The new launcher (released on November 2) has issues that aren't resolved for many players. Assuming you own the game and are not only playing GamePass for the moment, you can download and install the Windows 7/8 launcher. This is the launcher that we've all been using for a long time. (Link) If you wish to avoid the upgrade nag, simply click the shortcut for the old launcher and then set compatibility to Windows 8 on the Compatibility tab. You are a lifesaver! It wouldn't install after I downloaded it. The same issue as the person who posted this. It worked! PS Note: Scroll down the link to view a launcher for Windows 7/8. Click it and you can download it.
